Michelle & Bill's Garden, Toronto

Elegance and simplicity based upon the ordering principles of Japanese courtyard gardens; inspired by the dramatic mountain landscape of Yoho National Park, BC: the imaginative flow of water from mountain heights, through piedmont, into glacial lake, uninterruptedly around a platform and inside the fence, held within a mathematically measured modular grid.

Clearing the mind and sliding in
to that created space,
a web of waters streaming over rocks,
air misty but not raining,
seeing this land from a boat on a lake
or a broad slow river,
coasting by.
